THE latest entry-level colour bubble jet printer from Canon boasts a range of features that one is more likely to expect in a high-end model ? for about $150.
The BJC-1000SP was released this month to replace the BJC-265SP.
Features include Photo Mode for enhanced plain paper colour printing with standard inks, Special Effects to simulate illustrations and create sepia tones, and Photo Optimiser for colour balancing and to correct defects in lighting, tones and exposure.
Canon said the printer also featured a Super Economy mode to cut operating costs, enabling it to produce up to 2400 black and white pages using an optional high-capacity black cartridge, or 400 colour pages from a single standard colour cartridge.
The printer has a recommended retail price of $149, which includes a colour ink cartridge, cartridge storage container, drivers for Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0 and a set-up guide.
