Thinking Ink Led To Print Service

AROUND four years ago Dave Brown decided he could save a few dollars if he started refilling his computer printer cartridges.
He was right.
Before long he was refilling cartridges for friends.
During the day he was an operator in the bloom mill at BHP; at night he was into recycling.
Late last year Mr Brown was introduced to bricklayer Andrew Poniewierka. Both were looking for a change of direction.
A business plan was formulated and Hunter Cartridge Services opened for business in a shop in Mount Hutton in December last year.
`On average, people can save around 50% of a new cartridge cost by having their old ones recharged,' Mr Brown said.
`Everyone wants to save a dollar these days so our business has been steadily improving since the day we opened.
`There are around 50 different inks these days and a whole range of printer cartridges, some of which can't be recharged.
`But most can and we also do laser printer cartridges so we're kept pretty busy.
`The decision to go into business for ourselves has proven to be a good one.' ? Gary Bentley
