UNISYS Australia has followed the example set by Gestetner last year and launched a program to recycle its toner cartridges. It is estimated that between 750,000 and 1 million laser printer cartridges are used each year, but less than 10 per cent are recycled.

Unisys Australia's direct sales arm, Unisys Direct, will arrange a courier to collect the cartridges from anywhere in Australia. Unisys will then recycle the cartridges for resale.

"Customers can save thousands of dollars by using recycled cartridges,"says Unisys Direct's manager, Mike Jaggard. "They are less expensive and attract no sales tax."

For each cartridge returned you get a $10 refund and a Unisys and World Wide Fund for Nature mug. Unisys has become a corporate sponsor of the conservation organisation. More information from Unisys Direct toll-free on(008) 027 228.
